Mark Lodges of East Lancashire

East Lancashire Mark Masons Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge No. 1272
The Provincial Stewards Lodge held their January Meeting at Stanley House, Audenshaw, on Friday 14th January.
70 Brethren were present including the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Keith Partington Schofield GMRAC, the Deputy, VWBro David Anderson PGJO and the Assistant Provincial Grand Masters, VWBro Stephen John Holt PGJO and WBro Jeffery Alan Huddart GJD.
They were shown "The Mark of a Good Evening" by 12 members of The East Lancashire Royal Arch Demonstration Team, who visited the lodge.
The team were welcomed by the Master of the Lodge, VWBro David Thompson PGJO, and they then proceeded to inform and entertain the brethren with a series of monologues and stories about some of the characters and history relating to the various degrees in Freemasonry.
EComp Andrew Sinclair even managed to acquire a rather large keystone which he wanted to return to it’s rightful owner, he tried to get the PGM to take responsibility but was eventually persuaded to keep it and take it home!
The Provincial Grand Master thanked the members of the team for the humorous and informative way they had delivered their part of the evening and said it was the 2nd time in 2 days that he had been to a meeting when there had been a departure from the normal agenda, both had been an excellent example of how Freemasons can adapt and inform.
On the night the team had 3 enquiries about their future availability.
Everyone present agree that it had definitely borne The Mark of a Good Evening !
