The History of The East Lancashire Mark Fellowship

The East Lancashire Mark Fellowship has been in existence for over 15 years.

The structure has changed over the years and is now run by a committee consisting of a Chairman, WBro Jeffery Huddart, a Treasurer, Secretary and Assistant Secretary.

There are Fellowship representatives around the Province with responsibility for a number of Mark Lodges, the full list is available on this Web site.

The Fellowships aim is to run various events for the benefit of East Lancs. Mark Masons and their families, to promote the fellowship and enjoyment of each others company.

The two main Social events are a Family Fun Day held at Middleton Masonic Hall on the August Bank holiday weekend this is open to all family and friends and includes a barbeque, Stall, Bouncy Castle, Children's entertainment etc.

The second main event is held at Mytton Fold Hotel in Langho near Blackburn and is a Cabaret Evening with professional entertainers and a buffet meal for a very reasonable cost. The date for this is remembrance Sunday in November

Other functions within the year organised by the Fellowship are;

Four trips to Mark Grand Lodge meetings in London especially June for the Investiture of Grand Mark appointments and December for the Royal Ark Mariner Investiture. These normally attract somewhere between 60 to 80 Masons from East Lancashire.

The East Lancashire Mark Fellowship holds stock of Mark merchandise which is available from the Reps, Diaries £4; Mark Fellowship Lapel Badges £3.50; Cufflinks £7.50 ( £10 together); Mark and RAM ties £7.

Any surplus money generated by the Fellowship events is not given to any charity……….it is used for the benefit for all Mark Masons in the Province, as and when the need arises, for instance, the yearly publication of the Keystone and Ark .

The main purpose of the Mark Fellowship is to generate fellowship and enjoyment for all East Lancashire Mark Masons their friends and family.
