2011 Family Funday
Family Funday Middleton

28th august 2011

The East Lancashire Mark Fellowship held their Family Fun Day at Middleton Masonic Hall on Sunday the 28th August.

There was plenty of work to do before the event went ahead and a team arrived early on Sunday morning to erect the stalls and activities.

There were a wide selection of vintage cars on display which the owners were eager to talk
about and even delve under the bonnets.

Last year we made a donation to three of our local Mountain Rescue Teams at Bolton,
Oldham and Pendle and Rossendale to assist them to purchase and equip new vehicles.
The new vehicles were all delivered earlier this year and the teams brought them along to
the Funday along with some of their new equipment.

Face Painting

Wendie Williams was on hand to do face painting, and a lot of faces got painted.
Some were pretty, others were a bit scary!
It didn’t put them off their burger and chips though!

The stalls did a brisk business and the weather held off until it was time to go inside for the magician and the raffle

The magician had the children mesmerised with a variety of tricks and one or two grown ups joined them sitting on the floor at the front. He even recruited a lovely assistant. We still don’t know where the duck went!

Mark Fellowship Cabaret Evening
Mytton Fold, Blackburn
14th November 2010

The East Lancashire Mark Fellowship staged a cabaret evening at the Mytton Fold Hotel Complex, Langho, Blackburn on the 14th November
The Provincial Grand Master welcomed everyone and the evening got under way with the first part of the nights entertainment which was provided by “Four’s a Party” who sang a mixture of songs from the 60s and 70s.. The buffet meal was well organised by the hotel staff under the watchful eye of Louise who made sure that each table didn’t have to stand queuing for long and that there was plenty for everyone.
Bro Kevin Reaney organised a quiz which ran through the evening, the eventual winner was Mrs Edith Bleackley's team who won a large tin of Cadburys Roses.
The second half got under way with Ashton, “Songs from the Heart”, he gave us a mix which had everyone singing along and those inclined to get up and boogie kept the dance floor full. Unfortunately much to the disappointment of one of their greatest fans he couldn’t be persuaded to “Do some ABBA”.
The raffle was drawn by the Provincial Grand Master with Mrs Carol Clayton having the winning ticket for a bottle of brandy, several other bottles also found their way to good homes.
The Provincial Grand Master brought the evening to a close and said that as we all looked to have enjoyed ourselves so much we would have to see about doing it again next year!
